Are you 'LinkedIn'?
LinkedIn is often seen as an open platform for CV's rather than a valuable channel to generate new business leads for your hotel. Maybe your HR Managers uses LinkedIn as a resource for potential candidates, maybe your Sales Manager researches Executive PA's, Corporate Contract Manager and Event Bookers... But what about your own hotel profile?
Meeting James Potter,
The LinkedIn Man earlier this year has been a great inspiration and we wanted to share our learning with you. As we are evolving our own LinkedIn account, we would like to share some of our insights, industry best practise and have put together a half day work shop for using LinkedIn as a valuable resource to share information and lead generator for your hotel. Contact Terence O'Toole, Head of Online Marketing on

Did you know that LinkedIn launched a new innovation, allowing company profiles to have up to 10 Company Showcases? As the name suggests, you can showcase areas of your business for example your restaurant, your conference space or your hotel spa.
Using LinkedIn as a news channel can be very efficient. Even posting an update once a week is better than not. Whatever you decide to do, do it consistently, but don't do consistently nothing!
Recent research has shown that 50% of members are more likely to purchase from a company they engage with on LinkedIn so it's worth considering your LinkedIn audience as a key part of your online marketing strategy.
Top Tips:
• Ensure your own LinkedIn profile is fully optimised and represents you well
• Involve your hotel team with LinkedIn as part of a social-media training plan
• Connect with your local business community via individuals and groups on LinkedIn
• Create a LinkedIn Company Page, brand the “cover” and include a website link
• Post interesting content and engage with your connections
